If it works, it is a technological band-aid that could buy a year (or maybe even 5 years) to really ensure the next AV system meets our needs -- and maybe many of our wants -- COST-EFFECTIVELY as technology gets ever better and cheaper!
If you actually managed to track down those specific files—especially the .tmf file—you are holding the "golden ticket" to a massive shortcut. It completely changes the math.
Here is why that specific combination of files is the loophole that gets you out of the Crestron trap:
The .tmf file (Biamp Tesira File): This is the uncompiled blueprint of the audio server. It contains the exact "Instance Tags" (the specific digital names for every volume fader, mute button, and room-combining switch).
The .lpz file (Crestron Compiled Archive): This is the executable code currently running inside your Crestron CP3N processor. It is hard-coded to look for a specific IP address and those exact Biamp Instance Tags.
If you have the .tmf file, you do not need to reprogram the Crestron system or crack its source code. You just have to "trick" it into thinking the old Biamp never died.
Source a Replacement: You acquire an exact replacement Biamp TesiraFORTÉ AVB AI. Because Tesira advises this is an older production model, you can easily find them through AV liquidators or refurbished on the secondary market for roughly $500 to $1,500.
Load the Blueprint: You (or a local tech) use Biamp's free Tesira software to push the .tmf file onto the replacement server.
Spoof the Identity: You set the new Biamp's IP address, subnet, and Hostname to identically match the dead unit.
Plug it In: The Crestron CP3N doesn't know the physical hardware was swapped. It will reach out over the network, see the correct IP address, ping the correct Instance Tags, and instantly reconnect.

Does this "fix" the proprietary lock-in? No.
